Recently bought Rocksmith 2014!!!

So I recently got rocksmith 2014 game and I have to say overall it is much better than the first game, but there are a few things I liked about the first game that were not included in the new one. First of all session mode is a great addition to the game. Jamming and improvising are an important and fun part of  playing any instrument and session mode helps guide you through some of the important facets of jamming such as scales and notes in particular that help you have a better sounding session. Another great thing about session mode is that it has a virtual band that you can customize. It allows you to choose many different instruments of many different genres. The band responds to your playing which is a lot better than playing with a backing track. Overall there are some pretty good songs including some great songs from indie artists. Overall the lessons are pretty good but I would still suggest hiring a teacher and using this as a great practice tool. Another new mode is the score attack which is pretty cool because it allows you to choose a level of difficulty which is helpful if you are playing a song that you already have down pretty well and you want to bypass the process of only getting only a few notes at a time. If you do not miss a single note you receive a platinum medal, if you do not fail any phrases you get gold, if you fail one phrase you get silver, two phrases and you get bronze, and three you fail out of the song. Another new feature in 2014 is the master mode the idea of this feature is to show you can actually play the song after you have learned if it but often times it kicks in before you have truly mastered the song which causes you to miss a bunch of  notes. Something that can be frustrating in this game is the calibration. Some times even after you have calibrated it multiple times you still can run into issues. What happened to me was it would not register some of the notes and say I was hitting the wrong note even when I was hitting the correct note which makes it hard to advance through songs. One thing that I liked about the first game that was not in the recent game was the career mode style. In the first game you would have get a certain score on a couple of songs to qualify for an event and then you would play at different size venues and also you had different levels such as local musician to international musician to achieve. This is a style I would love to see again in future rocksmiths. I would have to rate the first one a 6/10 and I would give 2014 a 9/10. Overall the game has improved a lot but there is still room for improvement for future rocksmiths.
